The idea behind Alternative Insurance Center was formed in late 1991 by Mr. Philip King. Philip had been a small businessman in West Texas and California and constantly struggled  with insurance costs, mainly worker's comp. Due to changes in legislation in the early  90's, he was able to design an insurance package and named it the Workplace Accident  Program.  This innovative program saved 40% or more off worker's comp rates and more  importantly, better protected his employees and his business. He showed this program to  other business owners and the response was tremendous. After the success of this program,  Philip decided to incorporate this same method of designing insurance programs into  personal lines of home, auto, life and health.
